Recently, I had a chat with a small business owner over coffee. There was one key takeaway point. Small business owners work very hard IN their businesses (at least most do), and this is praiseworthy. But they put less effort working ON their businesses. Trends

Statistics have indeed shown that barely 50% of small and medium scale businesses in Australia did survive over a five year period 2011 to 2015 i.e. businesses employing 0 to 19 staff that commenced 2011 (Australian Bureau of Statistics report 2016). The situation would have become even more challenging with the recent economic downturn.
